The rights and source to HandsFree 2 has been sold to a 3rd party.
We thank every customer who purchased HF2 and was a part of something unique for most Mac users.
We have many other apps for macOS that we hope are useful to you.
If you are a current customer, this short FAQ may be helpful to answer some of the common questions:
Q: Can I continue to use my licensed copy of HandsFree 2?
A: Yes, current users will not be affected in any way.
Q: Can I still retrieve my license key if I loose it?
A: Yes, you can use our self-serve feature (at the top under "Recover License"). Or if you're unable to find it through it, you can always email us and we'll help you out.
Q: Can you still reset my license if necessary?
A: Yes, absolutely.
Q: Can I purchase a new license?
A: At this point, unfortunately, no.
Q: Will there be future updates?
A: The short answer is it's possible. According to our contract, we can continue to deliver updates with bug fixes and compatibility for new macOS releases.
The long answer is that we cannot push updates to the App Store and it would require moving everyone over to an updated website app version. This in itself is tricky enough, plus we have no way to let the App Store customers know this exists. So only customers with the website version would know about it.
So after thinking about this for quite a while, we've made the decision that we will not be pushing any further updates for HF2.
Q: Which company purchased it?
A: For obvious reasons, we are unable to disclose this.
